Leadership Expedition

Location: Algonquin Park

Cost: $325.00 (includes return transport to and from GTA, 2 nights accommodation in tent cabins, park and camping permits, all camping and paddling equipment, food, guides)

Eligibility:
To all persons 19-24 years old with a facial difference


Dates: August 13 - 17, 2012

Basic Itinerary:
Day 1: Transport to AO, intro to paddling/portaging, camping, leadership, drum night   (tent cabin)
Day 2: Transport to Rock Lake, portage/paddle to Penn Lake, advanced canoe instruction (wilderness camping)
Day 3: Portage/paddle to Rence Lake, Leadership Seminar (wilderness camping)
Day 4: Portage/paddle to Lake Louisa, final evening activities (wilderness camping)
Day 5: Portage/paddle to Rock Lake, exit the park, return equipment, transport back to GTA

Purpose: To offer programs for our young adult membership based on the same underlying principles as camp trailblazers (enhance confidence and esteem by overcoming new challenges, step out of comfort zone in safe environment, socialize with others who share the same social struggles) and to provide concrete leadership training so that our participants can return to camp trailblazers as volunteer counselors.
